The European Patent Office has granted INLYSE a patent for its approach to the structural analysis and identification of malware.
INLYSE GmbH has announced the grant of a European patent for its malware detection technology. The patent was granted by the European Patent Office, EPO, on 17 January 2024 and protects the approach developed by INLYSE for the structural analysis and identification of malware.
The patented technology is based on the visual representation of binary code and its AI supported evaluation. Instead of relying on signatures or known indicators, the approach analyzes the internal structure of executable files. This makes it possible to reliably detect previously unknown, polymorphic or heavily obfuscated malware variants.
“The grant of the European patent has a special meaning for us as a German and European company. Europe is not only our home market, but also a central innovation space for IT security. Patent protection from the European Patent Office underlines the technological substance of our approach and strengthens our position as an independent European provider.”
- Management Board, INLYSE GmbH
The visual AI technology forms the basis of INLYSE's malware detection platform and is being continuously developed further. Alongside product development, the company also offers technically focused security services such as incident response, digital forensics, penetration testing, security assessments and specialized training.
With the European patent grant, INLYSE continues to expand its international patent protection and underlines its commitment to technological development and value creation in Europe.
